The United Nations
Environment Program reports that: “More than half of humanity
will be living with water shortages within 50 years because of a
worldwide water crisis”. They go on to state that “Waste and
inadequate management of water are the main culprits behind growing
problems” |

Closer to home, the
government estimates that at least 36 states will face water
shortages within five years due to the combination of rising
temperatures, drought, population growth, urban sprawl, waste and
excess. |

Former Senator Paul Simon
from Illinois recently authored Tapped Out: The Coming World
Crisis in Water and What We Can Do About it. A book for the
general, non-specialized audience, Simon's publication sounds an
alarm about the approaching crisis. "Within a few years, a water
crisis of catastrophic proportions will explode upon us." |
